Tata Nano diesel to be launched in September 2011

Tata Nano, the world's cheapest car will now come in a diesel version. As per the reliable sources from the auto industry, it is being known that by September, 2011 the diesel version of the wonder car Tata Nano will be introduced.
Tata Nano diesel car model is anticipated to be loaded with 600 to 700 cc powertrain. It is being learnt that the car will come with an increased price tag over the petrol version of Tata Nano. Honeywell has manufactured Tata Nano's smallest turbo system. It is being known that the car will carry a super small Bosch Common Rail Direct Injection (CRDi) system. Tata Nano's other partners for diesel engine project include FEV, Ricardo and AVL.

Tata Nano diesel car version is speculated to be the smallest and cheapest car available in diesel powertrain in the Indian auto market. The car is expected to catch attention owing to its diesel model which is not available in the A small car segment which includes Maruti 800 (petrol car model) and in the A+ auto segment which includes Maruti Alto.
It is being learnt that the diesel version of the car will change the wheel of fortune for Tata Nano. Currently the car is struggling with deteriorating sales figures because of its fluctuating prices and safety issues.

In the beginning of this month, Tata Motors declared that it is offering open sales for Tata Nano in all the showrooms across India. Tata Motors, also in the wake of expanding its market share in India has introduced various lucrative offers. The company has extended the warranty for four years on Tata Nano, adding on various safety features in the car which will be rolled out. These safety features will also be affixed in the already sold out cars. It seems Tata Motors has geared up for making its small car popular again.
