Shortly after the Tata Nexon facelift was revealed, the carmaker took the covers off the Tata Nexon EV facelift. Now, Tata has started accepting bookings for the new Nexon EV for Rs 21,000 both online and at its pan-India dealer network. It will now sport the “.ev” suffix as seen on the Tiago EV. Here’s a quick rundown of the updated all-electric Nexon:
More Distinguishable Design
Based on the updated version of the internal combustion engine (ICE) Nexon, the SUV’s EV alternative sports a lot of design similarities including the revised LED lighting and alloy wheels. A couple of differentiating elements on the Nexon EV is the elongated LED DRL strip and a closed-off grille. Changes at the back over the older model are nearly identical to the facelifted Nexon including connected LED taillights and a redone tailgate. It also gets a unique Empowered Oxide colour option, over the regular Nexon facelift.

Big Cabin And Feature Updates
We have already seen what’s new on the inside of the Nexon facelift and the Nexon EV facelift gets much of the same. It gets a 2-spoke steering wheel with Tata’s illuminated logo in the centre, fresh seat upholstery, and new cabin themes as well. All these changes have been passed onto its EV counterpart as well, with some EV-specific design touches to set the two apart.
In terms of feature additions, the new Nexon EV gets a bigger 12.3-inch touchscreen, electronic parking brake, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, touch-based panel for AC controls, height-adjustable co-driver seat, and a 9-speaker JBL sound system. Tata has provided it with six airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera, blind spot monitor, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and front and rear parking sensors.
Improved Powertrains
Tata will be offering the new Nexon.ev in three broad variants: Creative, Fearless and Empowered. The updated electric SUV will be offered in two versions: Medium Range and Long Range, instead of Prime and Max. It uses the same size battery but the technology has been improved to be lighter and powers new Gen-2 electric motors. Here’s a look at its technical details:
