Premium hatches like VW Polo and Hyundai i20 cost almost parallel to the Amaze line up, while Amaze makes more sense to a common Indian user, as it is more like a family car and in India sedans have been considered as a symbol of pride. So, more or lesser, Honda Amaze will also affect the premium hatchback segment.

The Amaze effect on Mid-Sized Saloon Segment: Unlike other compact cars, Honda Amaze looks like a proper sedan and its affordable pricing will be a cause of worry for the mid-sized saloon cars as well. Honda has immense fan following in India and a diesel Honda might attract the potential mid-sized saloon buyers as well.

The Amaze effect on Compact SUVs/MUVs: It is a completely different segment, the need of the potential buyers are different and hence Amaze won't affect this segment.
