The new electric Nexon gets added features in terms of design, infotainment and safety
Update (14/09/2023): The Tata Nexon facelift has finally been launched, with introductory prices starting at Rs 8.10 lakh (ex-showroom).
The facelifted Tata Nexon EV has been revealed with all its features and specifications. Tata has styled it similar to the recently unveiled Nexon facelift, but with EV-specific details all around. However, cosmetic changes and powertrains aren’t the only differences between the two, as the new Nexon EV also gets a few additional features.
New Colour, Different Fascia
The biggest differentiator between the electric and ICE Nexon is the front profile, making it easier to tell them apart. Here, the Nexon EV gets a DRL strip running across the width of the fascia along with a closed-off grille. It also lights up and pulses while charging to reflect the state of charge.

Also, Tata has added a new “Empowered Oxide” colour option for the top-spec Nexon EV Empowered variant (Tata calls it a persona now) which has been borrowed from the Sierra EV concept showcased at the Auto Expo.
Bigger & Better Infotainment
The ICE (internal combustion engine) Nexon facelift already offers a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, but the new Nexon EV takes it a step further by offering a bigger 12.3-inch unit.
Just like the infotainment of the facelifted Nexon, these units support wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, but the Nexon EV facelift also gets a feature over the ICE Nexon called the Arcade.ev. Arcade.ev is an app store which allows you to download and use various types of apps on the 10.25-inch and 12.3-inch screens of the facelifted Nexon EV. Using this feature, you can play games, download music apps and stream videos via OTT apps like Netflix, Hotstar and Amazon Prime Video. This functionality is aimed to make it easier to pass time while the electric SUV is plugged up for charging and will likely not be accessible while on the move to avoid driver distractions.
Added Safety Features
Both the Nexon EV and Nexon ICE get a lot of safety features like 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), hill hold assist and a 360-degree camera with a blind view monitor. But with the Nexon EV, you also get an electronic parking brake and all-wheel disc brakes for added convenience and safety.

Expected Launch and Prices
Although unveiled a few days apart, prices for both these cars will come out on September 14. The facelifted Tata Nexon is expected to be priced from Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards, and the facelifted Nexon EV from Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom). The ICE Nexon will continue to rival the likes of Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300 and Maruti Brezza, and the Nexon EV will continue its rivalry with the Mahindra XUV400.
