TomTom Navigation for Android arrives in India

Today the TomTom Navigation app India for Android is available to download from Google Play for the first time. TomTom's on-board maps and IQ Routes bring the freshest map and the fastest routes to millions more Android smartphone users.

The TomTom Navigation app for Android has been designed especially for drivers. The latest TomTom maps are included and stored offline, which means that drivers don’t have to worry about losing a network connection in the middle of their journey. The app includes landmark navigation and free quarterly map updates which ensures that drivers always have the latest map on their smartphone.

TomTom Navigation app for Android is available from the Google Play store, priced at 2050 INR.

Features of TomTom Navigation for Android:

· Fully off-line and navigable map: With or without network connection, high-resolution maps offer fast offline loading and routing.
· FREE Lifetime maps: Drivers will always have the latest map to ensure they get to their destination as quickly as possible. Drivers will receive four free map updates per year for the lifetime of the app.
· IQ Routes: The fastest routes, the most accurate and reliable arrival times at all times of day.
· Multitasking support: Clear turn-by-turn guidance while taking a call on the phone.
· Seamless Integration: Integrates easily with Android smartphone contacts.
· Advanced Lane Guidance: Provides extra clarity when navigating difficult junctions.
· Spoken Street Names: Allows drivers to keep their eyes on the road - spoken instructions now include street names, making turnings even clearer.
· Landmark Navigation:   Wherever the driver needs to be, search for the nearest landmark and let TomTom show the route.

· Android OS:  2.2 or higher
· Screen resolution: smartphones between 800 x 480 pixels and 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (e.g. Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One, Sony Ericsson Experia Z). It will also run on most Android tablets.
· Storage:  960 MB of free space required
· SD card map storage - The update stores downloaded maps to the device's SD card by default, freeing up storage space on the smartphone or tablet.
