Upcoming Maruti Suzuki YBA Spotted in India

Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300 will soon have a competitor from country’s largest automotive manufacturer - Maruti Suzuki
Maruti’s upcoming Sub-4m SUV was spied recently which has been testing for almost a year. The vehicle is likely to be launched at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo in February. The vehicle has been codenamed YBA, however, its official name is yet to be revealed. Looks like it will have its world debut here in India and will probably be a global product. The automaker is raining crossover cats and dogs, apart from this YBA, they launched the S-Cross recently, 2016 Vitara has already been spied in the country, while new Ignis is also said to be attending the Expo.
Speaking of the YBA, it looks like the production version of the XA-Alpha concept, the automaker revealed at the 2012 Auto Expo. Mechanically, the vehicle will borrow the engine options from the current line-up - 1.3-liter DDiS200 diesel with SHVS along with 1.2-liter VVT petrol. Transmission options would include - standard 5-speed MT, while CVT from Baleno may also make its way into YBA.
In terms of features, it will feature the Suzuki’s 7-inch SmartPlay infotainment system probably with the Apple CarPlay that made its debut with the Baleno. It is expected that Maruti Suzuki will retail it from their premium Nexa dealerships just like the recent products from the automaker. Moreover, the YBA is also most likely to have standard dual front airbags with ABS and EBD similar to the new Baleno and S-Cross. Stay Tuned!
