2015 Frankfurt Motor Show Retrospect

Launch Update: Maruti Suzuki Baleno has been launched at a price of Rs 4.99 lacs (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The car offers segment first Apple CarPlay, amongst other creature comforts. The 2015 Frankfurt Motor show had a lot of expectations. Manufacturers from all parts of the globe kept their special products hidden from the auto-fanatics so as to reveal them in the 2015 IAA. Now, after the automakers have showcased their latest offerings, it's safe to say that the event was a huge success and definitely exceeded everyone's expectations. Here are all the major reveals of the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. To help our readers, we have further classified the cars as India Bound, which are expected to arrive in the country in some course of time and Concepts, cars which will only make appearance in the digital media.

India Bound

Suzuki Reveals India Bound Baleno aka YRA

Suzuki has made the public debut of the Baleno aka YRA at the on-going 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. For the rest of the world it’s the new Baleno, but for India it will get a new name as Maruti Suzuki won't use a nameplate which was not popular in the country, like they removed the SX4 from S-Cross! The YRA’s major rival will be the Elite i20, apart from the Hyundai, it will also compete with VW Polo, Fiat Punto EVO and Honda Jazz. Read More

All New BMW X1 and 7-Series Makes Public Debut!

The 2016 BMW X1 has made its much awaited public debut at the Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung aka Frankfurt Motor Show. The new X1 looks similar to the X5 SUV and doing so, dumps the station wagon look. This aesthetic update will be a key factor in winning back the consumer base, which BMW lost because of the love-or-hate looks of the 1st generation X1. The new X1 will feature the front-wheel-drive UKL platform, which also finds its application in the Mini lineup. The exteriors of the X1 feature sportier front bumper and all-LED headlights with the signature corona rings as DRLs. Read More

Santa-Fe Facelift Breaks Cover

Looks like Christmas came early this year. Hyundai has unveiled the India-bound Santa-Fe at the Frankfurt International Motor Show, 2015. The car happens to be one of the most recognizable luxury badges offered by the Korean automaker. On the exterior, the car features Hyundai’s hexagonal front grille, which is finished in chrome. The car flaunts redesigned front and rear bumpers. The foglamps get LED daytime running lights, encased in new silver trim. The headlamps come with xenon projector lamps in a new layout and at the rear, taillights receive a fresh LED graphic. Read More

World's fastest SUV, Bentley Bentayga is here

It’s the season of SUVs. Bentley has unveiled its first SUV, Bentley Bentayga, at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. According to the British luxury carmaker, the Bentayga is the fastest, most powerful, most luxurious and most exclusive SUV in the world. It’s hard to argue as the Bentayga’s all-new twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre W12 engine makes 608 PS of power and a massive 900 Nm of torque. All this power propels the SUV from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds, on to a top speed of 301 km/h. Read More

Volkswagen to Showcase the New Tiguan

Volkswagen have announced that they will be showcasing their new Tiguan at the Frankfurt IAA which will be open from 17 to 27 September. Tiguan will be available in 3 versions which are the sporty Tiguan R-Line, the classic on-road model and an off-road version. A concept plug-in hybrid variant will also be showcased, called the Tiguan GTE which has 160kW/218PS of system power. Read More

2016 Mercedes S-Class Cabriolet Makes a Splash at IAA

Mercedes-Benz, the German automaker made a splash at the Frankfurt Motor Show by showcasing the flagship S-Class in a convertible avatar. The new convertible car enhances the sophisticated looks of the car with the addition of a three-layer canvas roof. The convertible soft-top can be retracted in under 20 seconds. The flagship convertible also gets Mercedes’s AirScarf neck-warming system and Thermotronic climate control system. This particular climate control system uses 12 sensors and 18 actuators to measure a wide array of metrics, all in the pursuit of keeping the cabin atmosphere at the driver's ideal temperature. Fourth-Generation Prius Showcased at IAA 2015

Toyota  has showcased its 4th generation Prius at the 2015 IAA in Frankfurt yesterday. The car featured a complete style overhaul, which seem to be reminiscent of the Japanese shodo with certain origami-esque style cues.  The 2016 Toyota Prius is based on the company’s new global modular architecture dubbed ‘TNGA,’. The platform is relatively stiffer and comparatively lighter than the previous generation model. The new car also comes in a bigger package and its length has been increased by 60 mm and the width has been treated with another 15 mm. To enhance the aerodynamics, the height of the new Prius has been reduced by 20 mm. Read More

Jaguar F-Pace revealed, on sale from early 2016

Jaguar has unveiled its first SUV, F-Pace, at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show amidst a unique event. The F-Pace made a spectacular entry by completing the world’s largest 360 degree loop proving its performance crossover abilities. The F-Pace is the company’s third product to be built on Jaguar's Lightweight Aluminium Architecture after Jaguar XE and the new XF. Based on the C-X17 concept, the F-Pace also gets F-Type inspired design features such as the powerful rear haunches, fender vents and distinctive tail light graphics. Read More

Porsche Reveals Their First-Ever All-Electric Sedan - Mission-E

Porsche has revealed a futuristic all-electric concept sedan at the on-going 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. The assumable Tesla Model S killer hints Porsche’s design language from every angle and features latest electric tech from the German automaker.
