Just like the Zest, now the company is leaving no stone unturned to replicate the same success with its Bolt. And for that, the company has introduced an innovative promotional campaign, named the Multi-drive Rewards, which offers you a chance to win a Bolt, a trip to the Tata Motors Technical Centre in Europe and many other gift prizes.
Though the Bolt looks more-or-less like a modern evolution of the company's late 1990s launched Indica hatchback, but is ahead of any Indicas before, be it the most recent- Vista. The hatchback gets the Tata Motors' new design language, the 'Designext,' which was first rolled out with the Zest. It features a revised grille section that merges with the sharp headlamp clusters, housing smoked projector units. On the inside, the lower XM and XMS trims are equipped with non-touch unit, while the range-topping ‘XT’ comes with a touchscreen infotainment system, though offers the same connectivity options including AM/FM, Bluetooth phone integration, USB and Aux-in and iPod connectivity.
Powering the Bolt are the same engine options as the Zest, concluding into a single petrol and diesel engine each. A 1.2-litre Revotron turbocharged Multi-point Fuel Injection (MPFi) mil, good for 90 bhp and peak torque of 140 Nm, propels the petrol variants. While the diesel variant comes equipped with the same Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre oilburner, rated at 75 bhp and 190 Nm of peak torque. A five-speed manual gearbox will come as standard across all variants, with no AMT, even as an option.
