MG Hector’s fresh styling and connected features now come with CVT convenience in both Hector and Hector Plus models
After launching the new Hector Plus in India, MG Motor has now driven in the updated 2021 MG Hector CVT range at a starting price of Rs 16.52 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The CVT variant is available in both MG Hector and MG Hector Plus 6-seater petrol, in two trims: Smart and Sharp. With the addition of CVT, prospective buyers can now choose from four options in the 2021 MG Hector Petrol lineup: MT, Hybrid MT, CVT, and DCT.
Exterior and Interior Changes
Up front, the 2021 MG Hector gets new finishing on the grille with stud elements and chrome surround. The black applique at the back replaces the reflector strip on the outgoing model and the SUV now sits on larger 18-inch alloy wheels. Besides, it gets new front and rear scuff plates. You can also get a dual-tone exterior paint option with the new Hector.
Step inside the cabin and Hector's champagne and beige upholstery feel refreshingly fresh and airy. Among prominent feature additions, the 2021 MG Hector gets wireless charging, ventilated seats, and auto-dimming IRVM. MG has also updated its much-loved voice assistant system to understand over 35 Hinglish commands, besides featuring external Wi-Fi connectivity and SmartWatch compatibility. On the safety front too, MG Hector sets a new benchmark by offering 25+ standard features (with many being first-in-segment) for the best possible protection for occupants.
Superior Technology for Enhanced Convenience
The 2021 MG Hector CVT comes powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that puts out 143PS and 250Nm of max torque. This is the same super-refined engine that powers the manual and DCT versions of Hector too. The new CVT on offer is an 8-speed gearbox with two driving modes: Eco and Sport. While Eco is focused on extracting maximum fuel efficiency, the Sport mode sharpens the throttle responses to deliver the sheer pleasure of driving.
The addition of the CVT variant will benefit the customers in more ways than one. With an ARAI-certified mileage of 13.96kmpl, the CVT is extremely frugal and makes light work of driving in the city. Especially in urban areas with stop-go traffic, CVT offers a relaxed and jerk-free driving experience. With the introduction of the CVT option, MG Hector has become the first SUV in the country to offer two automatic gearbox options with the same engine -- a commendable achievement!
Complete Peace of Mind
The 2021 MG Hector CVT is backed by the MG Shield package that offers a best-in-class ownership experience. Customers will get a 5-year/unlimited km warranty, 5-year of Roadside Assistance (RSA), and the first five periodic services without any labour cost. Further, with the lowest maintenance cost (45 paise/km for petrol and 60 paise/km for diesel) and the widespread dealership network across the country (250 touchpoints), MG Hector promises to provide a delightful ownership and service experience to customers.
