Clearly, the second half of 2015 has been not so graceful on automakers. Starting with Jeep in July, moving on to Honda in September and then Toyota in October, Automakers have been forced to recall their products for one or the other issue. And then there was the VW Dieselgate, which put the entire auto world quality control into question. Joining the above brands, Ford India has recalled 16,444 EcoSports pertaining to an issue of the Rear Twist Beam bolt, which may not have been tightened properly and may cause the pivot bolt to break and hamper the vehicle's driveability. The American automaker claims that there has been no accidents due to this issue but the problem has to be fixed ASAP.

All EcoSports manufactured between November 2013 and April 2014 at the Chennai plant are part of the recall. The company said, “Ford India is contacting select customers to voluntarily inspect their EcoSport vehicles, made at the company’s Chennai plant between November 2013 and April 2014, for a potential concern related to Rear Twist Beam (RTB) bolt. In some of the affected vehicles, there is a possibility that the RTB bolt may not be tightened to specification, which may cause the pivot bolt to break. This condition can potentially compromise vehicle handling and thereby increase the risk of an accident.” Also, Ford is fixing this issue free of cost. This is the second time Ford has recalled EcoSport. Earlier in December 2014, 20,752 units were recalled to fix the problem relating to fuel and vapour line.
