The official pricing of the 2013 Ford Focus ST for American shores is yet to be made public but from somewhere a leaked dealer document bearing the price of this car has been discovered. The document states that the hot 2013 Ford Focus ST hatchback would wear a price tag of $23,700 when it reaches the dealerships within next few weeks. The destination and handling fee of this hot-hatch is expected to be $795 which is same as the rest of the Focus line-up is not included in the price mentioned above. Including the handling and destination fee the total tagged price would increase to $24,495.
The document also reveals prices of some options such as $795 for navigation system, $895 for moonroof, $35 for engine block heater, $495 for Tangerine Scream Tricoat Paint. Also revealed in the document are the names of two equipment packages – 201A at $2,505 and 201A at $4,840; no details about the same were mentioned in the package.
The earlier revelations about the car include the engine specifications; powering the 2013 Ford Focus ST is the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder EcoBoost turbocharged inline gasoline engine that is capable of pumping out 250HP of power and 265lb-ft of torque. The engine sends power to the front wheels only and is mated to the standard transmission of 6-speed manual gearbox. Expectedly, rivaling the likes of Focus ST would be the Volkswagen Golf GTI that generates 200HP and whose three door version costs $23,995 and five door version costs $24,495. These prices indicated do not include the destination and handling fee. Another expected rival of Focus ST on the American grounds is the upcoming Hyundai Veloster Turbo that pumps out 201HP power; the prices of this car have not been revealed yet.
