Toyota Motors Corporation, the  Japanese auto giant will be launching its low cost car the Toyota Etios to Thailand also. The other countries in this list include China, India and Brazil also. This new model Etios targets only the emerging automobile markets. This model is not planned for being introduced in the developed markets. Yukitoshi Funo, Executive Vice President of Toyota said that the company has to enter into the large-volume zone in those of the emerging markets.  Toyota is going through a speedy  growth in sales in Thailand. He also added that Toyota is the leading auto brand of the country. Funo further  added that they want to offer  a car which is within the reach of the professional  people. While the Nissan March and Nissan Micra are  designed for developed as well as emerging markets, the new Toyota Etios will be targeting a newly developing middle class in  developing nations.

Toyota is planning to release the cost effective Etios with five-doors in India in the end of 2010, that is, December 2010. The cost of this product will be something close to  4.50 lacs. The sedan version of the new  Etios will be something about  5.30 lacs. The company also thinks that as China is the largest auto market of the world so launching cheap car models in China will definitely bring a spruce in the sales of the company. In the year 2010, Toyota had recorded only a 6.9 percent market share in China. On the other hand, Volkswagen, the German carmaker, has recorded just thirteen 13 percent share in China.

The new Toyota Etios was unveiled at the Auto Expo as fully production form. The product will be built from late 2010 at the second facility of the company which is going through construction. The company has promised to offer world class quality and technology with the new Toyota Etios.
