Ashok Leyland Stile Spied

Ashok Leyland has recently lost its second position in the list of country's most selling commercial vehicle makers, and Mahindra & Mahindra grabbed that position. Now the company has been trying hard to regain its lost position. Amidst, company also plans to increase its foot-prints in Utility vehicle segment. Homegrown auto-major displayed its Stile UV at the 2012 Indian Auto Expo in Delhi and is expected to launch sometime around end of 2012. Somehow, the launch delayed and now the car is likely to be launched by India's festive season, Diwali.

Our friends from Motorbash has come up with a fresh set of Stile images, caught during its test runs on the Chennai roads. This clearly indicates that the Stile (re-badge version of Nissan Evalia) will soon going to hit Indian shores. The spyshots are totally different from the car that was unveiled at the 2012 Auto Show. The front of Stile looks more basic than Evalia which is more pleasing with a more traditional looking grille. The revamped headlamps and the air dam is smaller than its sibling Evalia. The bonnet too gets some minor changes and now comes up with a Ashok Leyland's badge.

Stile is a more basic version of Evalia and will be a cheaper version of Evalia. Ashok Leyland hopes that with cheaper Stile, company will definitely improve its market position and becomes the first choice as the commercial taxi. More interestingly, Stile is expected to house a stripped down version of Evalia's 1.5L k9k engine or will house 1.5L 3 cylinder turbocharged diesel engine. The car might get a petrol + CNG option as well.
