BMW India to launch Roadstar Z4 sports car in this year

In view of BMW India's sales have exceeded expectations, the company is all set to roll out its two-seater Roadster Z4 sports car in India in the second half of 2009. BMW India, the world's largest premium car maker, will now launch three new cars in India to keep the leader in India. BMW India president Peter Kronschnabl informed that the company rose 15 per cent in the first quarter of 2009 and exceeded Mercredes Benz in the sales tally. He added that Mercredes Benz has been the leader in the country's luxury car market for more than decade, but now BMW surpassed it by selling 992 units in the first quarter this year. The company is also planning to expand its dealers network. It will add 10 dealers in tier-II cities like Jaipur, Ludhinana, Coimbatore and Lucknow.
The Roadster Z4 with a folding hard-top can run up to 250 kmph. The price tag will be in the price band of Rs 50-60 lakh. The petrol and diesel variants of the newly-launched BMW 7Series, which is priced at Rs 81 lakh and Rs 77 lakh, respectively, will hit the market in June. BMW India is going to double its presence in Delhi, its biggest market, by adding two showrooms in Gurgaon and West Delhi.
