BMW's Mini Countryman S spotted at its dealership in New Delhi!

The Indian Auto Expo 2012 is just three days away and the car manufacturers are busy with their last minute preparations.  The luxury car manufacturer, BMW India has all the more reason to get pretty excited. The German car manufacturer is all set to deliver its promise bringing its British subsidiary Mini brand to India. In the way of preparations, the BMW India has already imported the select Mini cars at its dealerships and here’s how the Mini Countryman S crossover looks like.

Sitting high with ample ground clearance, just too perfect for the Indian roads can be clearly made out from the spotted posh car. The compact crossover is basically a safe haven for four passengers which is what a five door car to begin with.  At any case, the Mini crossover will be a premium offering sitting above the BMW’s cheapest SUV so far , the BMW X1 series, making the Mini Countryman S price in the range of Rs 25 lakh a more feasible option. The compact crossover from BMW is however expected to be more spacious than any other Mini with a powerful 1.2 L 169 Bhp engine to churn out a peak torque of 260 Nm at just 1600-500 rpm.

A six-speed automatic gearbox seems to be a possibility though a six speed manual gearbox can also be thrown in as an option. Based on the diesel car demands in India will BMW offer a diesel motor to power the iconic cars is something to check out for. A Mini Cooper hatchback, a convertible and the Countryman have been the three mini cars from its extensive global line-up considered for India. However, not until the January 5th will we get to see if Mini Clubman is also an option BMW India could have for the Delhi Auto Expo, which is when the auto major will showcase its intended car models at its pavilion in Hall No. 5 at Pragati Maidan , New Delhi.
