Ford Figo has beaten Tata Indica and is now the 5th largest selling car in India. In the month of September, 6,456 units of Figo were sold as confirmed by Ford. Whereas Tata Motors Indica sales were upto 6,258 units. The difference has already created a toil as it has pushed down Tata Motors from the first top five spot of largest selling cars, after a decade. The top five territory is ruled by Maruti Suzuki, South Korea’s Hyundai Motors and the Indian Tata Motors. The chase has put Figo in the 5th largest selling cars segment.

Nigel Wark, executive director – marketing, sales and service, Ford India said the company's objective is to provide high value for money which has grown Ford's respect among its customers. FordFigo coming at the 5th position is a huge step as it has put the company in the mainstream. He also said that they are looking forward to encourage dealerships and service networks to come on the top soon. Ford Figo came in the Indian market in March 2010, with the base model of 1.2 litre petrol engine priced at Rs 357,000, the diesel engine base model with 1.4 litre engine costing Rs 4,53,000. The sales of Tata Motors Indica have come down as they sold 48,902 cars from April till September. Indica's sales went down upto 14 per cent as compared to the last years figures.
