Ford India sales jumped more then 22 percent in Feb

Ford India, a subsidiary of US based Ford Motors has registered a growth of 22.67 percent in the sales of February this year as compare to the same period of last year. The company managed to sell 3,223 units in the month of February this year as against 2,636 units in the same period last year.
Ford India is all set to launch its Ford Figo model in the country on 9th of March this year. The Figo model is a compact hatchback and after launch it will compete with popular models in this range including Chevrolet Beat, Maruti Wagon R and Hyundai i10. The Ford Figo model has been priced in the range of Rs 3,60,000 to Rs 5,45,000. The production of the Ford Figo model has been started at company's Chennai plant from 5th Feb this year and model is already available for demo at company's dealerships across India.
We are seeing an overwhelming response to our product line-up with the Fiesta and Endeavour recording strong year-on-year growth of more than hundred per cent, Ford India Executive Director (Marketing, Sales and Service) Nigel Wark said in a statement.
At present small cars account for more then 72 per cent of the 1.22 million units sold in India and the company is planning to export a significant number of vehicles in overseas market including Asia Pacific and African countries.
