The fourth-generation Skoda Superb unveil is getting closer and now the carmaker has confirmed that it will make its global debut on November 2. While the cabin and the powertrain specifications of its upcoming flagship sedan have already been revealed, Skoda has now also released its first design sketches for the exterior.
New Design
The 2024 Superb follows the elements of Skoda’s new Modern Solid design language. It has Skoda’s signature grille which is slightly redesigned and the LED headlamp and DRL setup has also been tweaked a little. In the design sketch, the fascia has a sporty bumper with sharp details and the fog lamps appear to be absent.

From the sides, the design remains largely unchanged but it will sport a new alloy wheel design, which will be slightly different from the ones in the sketches. Expect a more realistic stance in terms of ground clearance and space in the wheel arches.
At the back, the C-shaped tail lamp setup is still present but it has individual light elements, each of which can be seen from the outside. The boot lip, reflector panels and bumper design are more or less the same.
Updated Cabin
While the exterior is reassuringly similar to the pre-facelift model, much has changed inside the 2024 Skoda Superb. It gets a brand-new cabin theme in a black and brown dual-tone shade. The dashboard design is layered and curves at the bottom. This dashboard also houses a free-floating touchscreen infotainment system and AC vents hidden in vertical slats.

The centre console tunnel is minimalist in design, with just a few controls and a tray to keep your phone, connecting to a tunnel which is also used as a front armrest. The upholstery is made from 100 percent polyester and the automatic transmission’s drive selector has been moved behind the steering wheel.
Features & Safety
The highlight of the new cabin is the 13-inch free-floating touchscreen infotainment display. Apart from this screen, the cabin also houses a 10-inch digital driver’s display, a heads-up display, automatic climate control with touch dials, wireless phone charger, powered front seats, ambient lighting and a sunroof.

Skoda will offer the Superb with multiple powertrain options in the international market. The sedan will get a mix of engines with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options, along with both mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid systems.
The plug-in hybrid system comes with a 25.7kWh battery pack, which allows it to go up to 100km in electric mode and supports 50kW DC fast charging. However, the India-spec version will most likely come with the turbo-petrol engine options, without the plug-in hybrid version.
Launch, Price & Rivals
The Skoda Superb was discontinued in India a while back and the new-generation sedan could make a comeback. We expect it to come to Indian shores sometime next year via imports and it can be priced from Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom). The sedan will be a rival to the Toyota Camry.
