Honda Brio Sedan to Drive in By 2013

Honda, the car maker from Japan is planning to bring in the sedan version of its hatchback, the Brio to India by 2013. The coming Honda Brio sedan will be a compact sedan, which will be positioned right below the Honda City. Having a lesser price than that of the Honda City, the target group will be the new buyers who either go for premium hatchbacks or entry level sedans. So the most important role will be played by the pricing. It will be interesting to see, whether Honda will be able to keep it within the expected budget or not. The closest competitor to the Honda Brio sedan version will be Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Volkswagen Vento, Toyota Etios and few others.

The coming Honda Brio Sedan has been especially designed for the emerging markets like India, Thailand and the places where THE PRICE factor plays a crucial role. Following the Indian trend of using the similar platforms for hatchbacks and entry level sedans like Swift & Dzire, Polo & Vento, the sedan version of Honda Brio too is expected to carry the similar platform, which will help it producing a good mileage. Ammar Master, Automotive analyst with JD Power Asia Pacific said, "Honda's downsizing strategy will continue with the Brio sedan expected to be in the market in 2013. Like its hatch counterpart, Brio Sedan will first be marketed in Thailand , with India to follow by the fourth quarter just before the start of the festival season."
