CarDekho reported it some days back that Honda cars India might soon launch the CNG version of Honda City in the country, and now they have launched it in the markets of Thailand, which has made us believe more on our claim that India too will have Honda City in CNG avatar. Honda City CNG houses the i-VTEC 1.5-litre mill that drives on both CNG and Petrol and features the gas injection system and specially designed electronic suspension system. Moreover, the electronic safety control box and sold cross bar enhances the safety and stability.
The all new CNG City is available in six vibrant colours. Speaking about Honda's commitment towards developing environment friendly energies to run vehicles, Executive vice-president Pitak Pruittisarikorn said that the City CNG is an effort towards that. Honda has earlier announced to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 30% from 2000 levels in all its products by the year 2020.
He also showed his concern towards rising burden of running cost of the car on consumers as the petrol prices have seen a huge rise in last few years, and working on alternative fuel vehicles is the only solution left. "This latest version maintains all the unique design features as well as superior performance and safety standards," said Mr Pitak.
