Hyundai Motor India Ltd, the country’s second largest car manufacturer and the largest passenger car exporter continued to be on a growth trajectory with the domestic sales growing by 14.2% over the same month last year. Commenting on HMIL’s sales performance Arvind Saxena, Director - Marketing and Sales, HMIL said that it is heartening to see the market on a growth trajectory and this has reflected in the sales as the company achieved the highest ever domestic sales since inception in 1998. Hopefully the festive season will further consolidate the growth. The launch of the new ‘next gen’ i10 should further strengthen our position in the compact car segment as it has been received very well by the market, he added. The segment-wise cumulative sales for the month of September, 2010 are as follows: A2 segment (Santro, i10, i20) 46,673 units; A3 Segment (Accent & Verna) 4,752 units; A5 segment (Sonata Transform) 16 units.
