Hyundai could push new i20 launch to April

Country’s second largest car manufacturer, Hyundai India has a string of new cars and concepts for display at the 2012 Auto Expo. Right among these will be the new Hyundai i20 spotted once again which tells us how aggressively the auto major is testing the car before the Indian Auto Expo. However, unlike as assumed earlier, the new Hyundai i20 will not be up for a launch but just for a display at the Auto Expo in New Delhi and could be pushed to April, this year for the new car launch.

In either case, the new Hyundai i20 will not be seen with an inside out makeover as predicted. Despite donning a heavy camouflage, the new i20 can be seen sporting the ‘Fluidic’ design concept quite evidently. But, this is all the key change the new Hyundai i20 will undergo. Except for the refurbished interiors for a fresher look and a couple of new features, not to mention the new wheel cap, the revamped version is endowed with, the new Hyundai i20 will just be as good as before.

The makeover will not quite creep in to the Hyundai i20’s engine department, where the new hatchback will still carry the same 1.2 L petrol engine and a 1.4 L diesel powertrain for some decent performance as ever before. So, it is probably the slightest bit of facelift the Hyundai India has decided to endow the car just to prepare for the new competition. A nominal raise in the new Hyundai i20 price can be expected for the car model which had never failed the auto major so far.
