Hyundai India is doing fairly good in most segments it deals in, be it the budget segment with Eon, Hatchback subcompact segment with Hyundai i10, premium hatchback with Hyundai i20 or Sedan C+ with Verna Fluidic. But one segment where it has been lagging for about half a decade is the premium sedan, so to fill the gap, Hyundai is all set to bring in the much awaited premium sedan Elantra in fluidic avatar to India very shortly.
The Hyundai Elantra Fluidic was showcased at the Auto Expo 2012 in Delhi and since then the speculations about its launch started floating. September was the expected month for its launch, but our sources have confirmed that the all new Elantra will be launched prior to this, most probably in the first or the second week of July. Badged as the i40, the all new Elantra will come in fluidic sculpture, which has proven to be very successful for the company. Not just looks, but the interiors too have been improvised, and a bunch of advance features too have been added.
The all new Hyundai Elantra will come loaded with the features like heated steering wheel and door mirrors, electric front seats, cruise control, dual zone climate control, leather upholstery, start/stop function, parking sensors, panaromic sunroof and a lot more, which now make it stand in front of its closest competitors including Toyota Corolla, VW Jetta, Skoda Laura and the Chevrolet Cruze. It is likely to sport two engine options, a 1.8-litre petrol and a 1.8-litre common-rail diesel engine. Stay tuned for more updates on the same.
