Hyundai Motors is all set to launch a new variant of Elantra in the US market. Hyundai Elantra will be unveiled at the upcoming Auto Show at Los Angeles. This new Hyundai 2011 model is all ready to go under production beginning later this year at the Alabama manufacturing facility of Hyundai. At present, the U.S.-specification Elantra models are manufactured in Ulsan, Korea. Hyundai Motor America CEO John Krafcik commented that their philosophy is to make their vehicles where the company sells them. Krafcik further said that by adding the new Hyundai Elantra to company’s U.S. production mix, they now have three most popular models there in the United States. The beginning of manufacturing in the US will allow Hyundai to save money on the company’s cost of shipping the models from Korea to the US. This type of manufacturing will also allow the company for providing the information that the models are American made.
