Hyundai plans to introduce the Grand i10 in India in the coming month— September. The Grand i10 will be placed in between the i10 and the i20. The official unveiling of the vehicle will happen at the 12th Edition of the Frankfurt Motor Show this year in September.
The Grand i10 has been tuned completed for Indian market conditions. In Europe this will be the i10 replacement, however for India it will be a different car. The Grand i10 gets several new features like rear AC vents, glove box chiller and several other segment first. The Grand i10 has a longer wheelbase and hence it is more spacious too.
Hyundai’s future product line-up includes the i10, Grand i10 and the i20. There are no plans to discontinue the i10, but the idea is to make the Grand a more premium vehicle. The older i10 will help the company to grow stronger in the Tier II and III cities with the progression in time. Built on a completely new platform offering a longer wheelbase, Grand i10 will deliver refined driving dynamics with low noise levels. The car has been designed keeping in mind the aspirations of Indian families who look for enhanced space, style and high fuel efficiency.
Grand i10 will come with two engine variants - 1.1 litre U2 diesel and 1.2 litre Kappa petrol, offering a combination of optimum performance with best in class fuel efficiency. The diesel engine on Grand i10 is the Advanced second Generation U2 diesel engine, which offers a great combination of performance and fuel efficiency.
