India bound new cars unveiled at Frankfurt

Each time when Frankfurt Motor Show happens, it makes way for some of the new cars displayed in it to travel to India also and 2011 is no exception. Some of the top notch car makers have not planned rest in their itinerary. Right after Frankfurt they will start preparations to launch their cars in India also. Heading the list is Skoda’s sedan Skoda MissionL. Skoda MissionL price is expected to fall in the range of Rs 8 lakh, Skoda MissionL is eyeing Honda City’s market in India. The car is seen as a strong contender to think so because it is based on Volkswagen Vento’s platform and will share engines with Volkswagen. It is evident that Volkswagen Vento has already done a huge number of rounds in Indian car market.

Only the luxury quotient is missing from the car which Skoda’s dream project car-Skoda MissionL is expected to fill. Speculations are rife that the Skoda MissionL will arrive in Indian market by October. Skoda will place Skoda MissionL in a segment between Skoda Fabia and Skoda Octavia but presently the car is under the final stage of development. Next from the German car maker Volkswagen's hood itself, a hatchback will be released for Indian car buyers. Highlighted at Frankfurt, Volkswagen UP will enter fierce competition among small cars in India by the end of 2011. Volkswagen UP price is likely to be tagged competetively, Volkswagen Up which will be the cheapest car by Volkswagen in India is expected to be priced at Rs 3.5 lakh.

This entry-level hatchback will directly compete with Hyundai i10 and Maruti WagonR. The 4-seater car will be powered by 1.0 litre-59 bhp petrol engine which is boasted of offering an astonishing mileage of 23 kmpl. Mercedes Benz, the ace selling brand is totally committed to its Indian market and is going to launch the all new car Mercedes-Benz B-Class. The car was out on display at Frankfurt Motor Show but has not seen a dawn in India yet. Expectations of Mercedes-Benz B-Class sitting on the base of the luxury cars are strong as the speculated range of this sports car is Rs 20-25 lakhs.
