The festive season of Diwali is expected to turn more exciting with some significant launches in the car industry of the country. The Indian auto-giant Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to add a new entry to the compact MPV segment of the country in the form of Mahindra Mini Xylo. This newfangled MPV is expected to rival the like of the popular Tata Sumo, Maruti Ertiga and Premier Rio. But this compact MPV can also face tough competition near the end of current year in the form of an MPV from Force Motors. Force Motors is known because of its close association with the German luxury car giant Mercedes Benz, the best example of which is the Traveller from Force Motors which is actually an old Mercedes.
Maximum of the vehicles of Force Motors are developed under a license from the aforementioned German auto maker. Force Motors is working on the process of launching a new MPV which would be a version of Mercedes Benz Viano with a badge of Force Motors. One of the heavy duty engines used in the SUVs from Force Motors is the 2.2-liter common rail engine and this is also expected to be affixed in the Force version of Mercedes Benz Viano. This 2.2-liter 4-cylinder common rail engine is capable of pumping out a peak power of 139 BHP at 3800 RPM which it will supply to the rear wheels through a five speed manual gearbox.
Force Motors has also planned a production facility in Gujarat for SUVs and MPVs, which is expected to start functioning by the end of current year. The Force One in the Indian car market is contending against Mahindra Scorpio, Toyota Innova and Tata Safari etc. The Mahindra Mini Xylo has created a lot of buzz in the industry even before its launch especially with the speculations that the 5 seater version of this car will take on the likes of hatchbacks as well. With class-leading features and competitive pricing the Mahindra Mini Xylo is expected to drive in huge volumes.
