The problem at the Maruti India’s Manesar facility arouse last week, with the manufacturer’s decision to make the workers sign the good conduct bond, before entering into the company premises. This decision made on the company’s side is due to the workers’ deliberate attempt to hamper the production at the plant. Following the standoff at the plant, the Indian auto manufacturer had allegedly dismissed 5 permanent workers, suspended 26 permanent workers and discontinued 18 trainees on sabotage charges. MSI’s Manesar plant has the capacity to produce around 1200 units in a single day that comprises the production of the models, Maruti A star, Maruti Swift and Maruti SX4. However, the Plant A managed to produce 125 units yesterday, there-by causing a production loss of 4, 575 units and Rs 225 crores in terms of money, since Monday.
