Maruti Ertiga to be shipped to Indonesia

Didn’t we just see Maruti Suzuki India making a debut with the Maruti Ertiga in the compact MPV segment at the 2012 Auto Expo in India? But even before we see the Ertiga launch happening in India, the auto major is already packing the bags to have the new Maruti MPV bundled off to Indonesia as a part of its export plans. The first and the only MPV from the domestic car manufacturer yet, the new MPV will be powered by a 1.4 L petrol engine and a 1.3 L multijet diesel engine, but all the same it is only the Maruti Ertiga petrol that is going to be exported to the Indonesian market.

The Ertiga MPV is full of vitures, the car is not just an eye-candy, but is going to be a trend-setter in many a cases and to be the one to mark the beginning of the CKD exports for Maruti India.Maruti Suzuki India had its eyes and ears wide open and was quick to gauge the growing demand for the SUVs and MPVs in the country.

Without a moment to waste, the auto major hurried its steps and produced the Maruti Ertiga MPV and the Maruti XA Alpha concept at the Auto Expo to enhance its presence in the SUV segment which had just the Maruti Gypsy and Maruti Grand Vitara on the name of Maruti SUV in India. But, after a pathetic sales in 2011, Maruti India has decided to focus on exports which have improved drastically by 50% especially in December at 14,686 units from the corresponding time in 2010.
