The head of  Suzuki on Thursday finally said that the workers strike at its Indian arm Maruti India's Manesar plant that was finally called off last week and had costed Maruti India an output loss of just 16,000 vehicles was neligiable. The CEO Osamu Suzuki also added that where the company sells 1.2 million cars in a year this Maruti Strike had just been a matter of inventory adjustment. He also said that the company would not recognize a separate labour union for the Manesar plant as demanded by the striking workers and there would be only one workers union as recognized by Maruti Suzuki India. The workers also demanded to retain the contract labourers for the two upcoming new units inside the Manesar complex, however the officials didn’t say anything about this demand of the workers.

The launch of Maruti Swift Dzire has also been delayed because of the same reason. This new Maruti Swift Dzire is supposed to be  smaller than the earlier Maruti Swift Dzire. According to the reports Maruti Suzuki India has accelerated the production at Manesar Plant to 108%, more than its total production capacity and therefore now it cannot pressurize its workers with extra working option to make the launch of New Maruti Swift on time.
