Maruti pulls the wraps off the compact SUV concept XA Alpha

Finally the day has arrived which we all have been looking forward to. The 11th Indian Auto Expo begins today amidst a huge hullabaloo and we already have a grand news from the country’s largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki India. It is well known that Maruti Suzuki India has a compact SUV concept for a display at the 2012 Auto Expo.The auto major has finally done the honours to unveil the compact SUV concept XA Alpha finally in front of the masses. Like assumed the compact Maruti XA Alpha SUV concept is a five-seater under four meter in length and a three door SUV at the moment.

But, this however, does not rule out a five door compact SUV in future once it is closer to production. Coming to the dimensions, the Maruti XA Alpha SUV concept measures 4 meters in length, 1.9 meters wide and 1.6 meters tall and the wheels of the XA Alpha concept measure 19”, although, the measurements of the SUV are more likely to see a sea change once Maruti India decides to send the SUV for production, that however might not happen any time soon as seen with Maruti Ertiga MPV.

The domestic car manufacturer, Maruti India kept the pricing and the engine specifications of the XA Alpha under wraps for now, which will be well within the limits of the 1.2 L petrol engine and 1.5 L diesel powertrain.  Maruti Suzuki India obviously intends to keep the suspense intact with the new models and tomorrow is when the auto major has chosen to make a big impact with the most anticipated Maruti Ertiga MPV.
