Things seems to fail to get back on track at Maruti's Manesar plant. Maruti India is reported to have faced poor quality production in the last week, which has made the auto manufacturer to force its employees to sign a good conduct bond on Monday, before entering the factory to ensure quality production in future. A major security arrangement is believed to be made outside the company to make the employees sign the bond before entering the factory. It is also said that 10 of the factory employees' had been suspended, five of them who were dismissed and six trainees had been made to discontinue, after which the management had decided to come up with good conduct bond on Monday, which is mandatory for every employee to sign.

The Manesar plant produces Maruti Swift Dzire, Maruti A-Star, premium sedan Maruti SX4, and the recently launched new Maruti Swift. According to the sources, MSI had been witnessing problems related to the quality and hindered production leading to failure to meet the targets during the past week. Apparently, on 24th of August, out of 1,230 cars that were supposed to be produced, only 437 were assembled, among which 96 units only could get through the quality test. It was also reported that the factory employees were involved in causing the low output in quality as well as volume, thereby playing with the customers interests in the matter. However, later the workers involved in the sabotage are either suspended or dismissed.

Shiv Kumar, who had led the employee strike in June, throwing some light on the matter, reportedly commented that, post the rejection of the application sent to form a union at the plant, the factory management had asked the employees to sign an agreement to not to indulge in any union related affairs in future that includes external intervention. Shiv Kumar speculates that this low production during the past week could be the result of the June strike, that has made the employees working on the management side, trigger this havoc by tampering with the products. Apparently, the 13-day employee strike in June to recognize their new union formed by the MSI employees, the Manesar plant is believed to have suffered a hit of 12,600 units production causing a Rs 630 crore loss.
