If you are planning to take a new Maruti Suzuki Car home this summer, be ready to squeeze your pockets a bit more. Maruti Suzuki, the manufacturer with claims of highest car sales in India, has announced a price hike of up to 10,000 across all its variants. The reason cited for this rise is the increase in Input costs and the new emission norms. Although the exact prices are not on board, the expected rise on small car models like A Star and Ritz would be around Rs 1,000, the hike on models like Estilo, Omni and Swift is expected to be in the range of Rs 2,500. The rise graph seems exponential with higher range models as Sedans like Dzire and SX4 will be costlier by Rs 7,000 and Rs 9,000, respectively. The top officials from this leading car manufacturer recently qouted to the media that due to the sharp increase in the input costs and introduction of BSIV norms the company had to take the step of passing the increase to its customers. Although, there are model specific increases, the hike is seen across all Maruti Suzuki cars. With the statements now officially disclosed, the customers need to loosen their hard-earned money under governance pressures and new norms.
