Maruti Swift launch slated for August?

The 13 day long strike at Maruti India Manesar facility led to a huge production loss and also contributed towards the delay of new Maruti Swift launch. However speculations are high that the Indian auto wizard Maruti, is all set to launch the refurbished 2011 Maruti Swift in the month of August. If rumors are to be believed, Maruti India is conducting final tests. The new Maruti Swift on the contrary has already received the ARAI certification.

It seems that Maruti is not ready to take any chances to lose the popularity of its popular hatchback. With the launch of Toyota Etios Liva on June 27 and Chevrolet's Beat diesel all set to be launched in July, the undisputed king of small cars in India Maruti does not want to lose its throne. Earlier there were rumors that due to the 13 day long strike the company scrapped the plans to launch new Maruti Swift in the month of August. But with the stupendous response Toyota Etios Liva got by receiving a whooping 1000 bookings within three days of its launch it seems Maruti India is in no mood to delay the launch further. These new cars could prove to be a threat to the Maruti's small cars, specially new Maruti Swift, the long waiting period may deviate Maruti's customers to other small cars.
