New Mercedes-Benz E-Class 220 CDI was spotted on the roads of Pune recently. The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class tried its level best to stay in disguise and hide itself from people, but sadly it failed. However, the car that was spotted had a sticker on the back of the window that said “Do Not Fill Fuel”. So is Mercedes-Benz testing a new substitute fuel technology? Or, Mercedes-Benz E-Class 220 CDI is a hybrid? Well nothing is confirmed as yet. This German car manufacturer is surely trying its best to get back in business in the Indian Auto Market.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class is surely the leader of the luxury car market of India and has nine different variants in the car market. The Mercedes-Benz E200 is the base version of Mercedes-Benz E-Class with petrol, whereas Mercedes-Benz E250 is a diesel car. Therefore, to offer its consumers a little cheaper diesel Mercedes-Benz E-class, Mercedes introduced Mercedes-Benz E250 CDI classic, which is available at the price of Rs. 39.86 lakh.

The spotted Mercedes-Benz E-Class car’s badge was hidden but one could make out that it was written E220. However, it isn’t clear yet that whether Mercedes-Benz E-Class E220 will be offered to the Indian Auto Market or not. Previously, this German car manufacturer announced that it is planning to proffer engines with lower displacement. Its rivals such as Audi A6 and BMW 5 Series came with 2.0 litres of engines. However, the Mercedes-Benz E220 is already available in other global car markets.

According to the reports, Mercedes-Benz E220 will come with 4 cylinder diesel motor that has the capacity of producing power of 170 bhp. The Mercedes-Benz E Class Price is not yet confirmed in India, but could land between the price range of Rs. 38 Lakh - Rs. 40 Lakh. The price factor will make Mercedes Benz a little worried as its rival Audi has recently launched the brand new Audi A6 at the price of only Rs. 37 Lakh.
