Remember, Mercedes-Benz India has brought the A-Class hatchback concept to the Auto Expo with the dynamic design lines outlining the power-packed hatchback? Either that one or the well acclaimed Mercedes Benz B Class hatchback is expected to be introduced before the year end to counter the BMW’s step with the Mini brand in the Indian car market. Mercedes-Benz unfolds its elaborate plans until 2020 as its fight to topple BMW from the number one position continues. The German luxury car manufacturer reveals that the company hopes to explore the small car segment, through which it hopes to gain the lost traction in the Indian car market.

Better late than never, Mercedes-Benz India is finally brought to its senses. The auto major finally understood its lack of guile where the other luxury car manufacturers and compatriots succeeded in enhancing their presence in the country. BMW India and Audi were quick to observe that providing the right model at the right time will do the trick and came up with the Mini brand just recently to tap the growth in the hatchback segment and created almost a revolution with its reasonably priced BMW X1 series. Audi India picked up from there and is almost on the brink of launching the Audi Q3 SUV, which is slated for a launch in second half of 2012. However, Mercedes-Benz India is now determined to win back its lost glory hoping to increase its sales to almost thrice to 25,000 units by 2015 while targeting to be the number one car manufacturer in the luxury car segment all the time.
