New Alto and Wagon R to defend Maruti's market share

Country's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki, which has recently launched a its popular Wagon R model in a completely new and improved avatar, is all set to take on with new cars, launched by other car makers. It is expected that the company will soon launch a new and updated Maruti Alto in the country, which is already the most popular car in India.

Maruti Wagon R, Which is country's second best selling car after Maruti Alto, has got an array of new features and a powerful K-series engine. The new features of Maruti Wagon R includes adjustable tilt steering, digital fuel indicator with double trip meter, a wider viewing area for drivers and an integrated music system with Aux-in & 4-door speakers for surround sound effect.

The new Wagon R model, which comes with a some amazing cosmetic changes, is expected to give a tough fight to other new car launches from companies such as Chevrolet Beat, Ford Figo and Volkswagen Polo. New Wagon R comes with an improved fuel economy and lower emission level.

On the other hand, the relaunched Maruti Alto would sport a 5-speed synchromesh gearbox, ground clearance of 160mm, turning circle radius of 4.6m, a tyre size of 145/80 R12 and would be shelved in the price range of 2.36 to 2.85 lacs (ex-showroom Bangalore) for metallic colour versions. The Non-metallic versions of the same would cost Rs. 4000 lesser.
