New Honda Jazz/Fit launching tomorrow in Japan; more details out

Honda Motor Company, the Japanese automaker has revealed more details of the all-new Fit/Jazz and Fit Hybrid. The vehicles are scheduled to be launched in the Japanese auto market tomorrow on September 6, 2013. The all-new Fit/Jazz retains the design concept of the original model, and features a completely redesigned powertrain an body and offers a whole new level of interior comfort, fuel economy, styling and driving performance.
The Fit Hybrid (aka Jazz Hybrid in some nations) features the new one-motor Sport Hybrid i-DCD hybrid system, which starts in EV mode. By switching automatically among EV Drive, Hybrid Drive and Engine Drive based on driving conditions, this system delivers fuel economy of 36.4kmpl, which is highest of any vehicle available in Japan.
The all-new Fit/Jazz is powered by a newly designed 1.3-litre gasoline-engine that achieves class-leading fuel economy of 26kmpl. The all-new 1.5 L gasoline-engine Fit leverages Honda's proprietary direct injection technology to produce high output for powerful, exhilarating driving.
The first Honda Fit/Jazz was launched in 2001, and since than over 4.87 million units have been sold. The vehicle is manufactured at different 10 locations in eight countries, and is now on sale in 123 countries and territories. Now, Honda is aiming to reach Jazz/Fit to newer heights, as the 4WD Hybrid type is on cards, scheduled to be launched in December 2013. The full name of the Hybrid Fit will be the Sport Hybrid Intelligent Dual Clutch Drive.
The next-generation Honda Fit and Fit Hybrid comes with an all-new design concept: "EXCITING H DESIGN!!!" The new crossfade monoform exterior styling represents a dynamic evolution of traditional Fit/Jazz design elements. The cockpit's controls are concentrated for driver convenience, the front passenger area is open and roomy, and the rear seats are highly comfortable for long drives.
The Honda Jazz/Fit for the Japanese market will be made available with three engine options - a 1.3-litre i-VTEC that develops 98bhp and 120Nm of torque, mated to a CVT gearbox, a 1.5L i-VTEC linked to a 6-speed manual transmission, and the 1.5-litre i-VTEC hybrid with a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
To further enhance the aerodynamics of the new Jazz/Fit, the vehicle has been given a new designed roofline, front pillars, rear combination lamps and others. It also has a newly designed suspension, which offers smooth, stable vehicle stance and delay-free roll during turning. Honda Jazz/Fit features the G-Force Control Technology, the Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure that enhances passengers protection and crash compatibility in frontal collisions. The vehicle also sports various active safety features including VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist), HSA (Hill-Start Assist) and the Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), which warn vehicles to the rear of a sudden stop.
