The 2024 Skoda Superb has been globally unveiled by the carmaker, nearly a month after the debut of the new-gen Skoda Kodiaq. The 4th-gen sedan comes with an updated design, a modern and minimalist cabin, new features and multiple powertrain options. Let’s explore these changes in more detail.
The New Design Language
The new Superb carries Skoda’s new Modern Solid design language and continues to be offered in two shapes for European markets: sedan and combi (estate). Since the Indian market will only get the sedan version, we will focus more on the design changes there. It gets a new front profile with a redesigned front grille, updated LED headlights and DRLs and a new front bumper with sharp details. The carmaker has also removed the fog lamps.
The side profile remains similar but the changes in the shoulder-line and the creases along the bottom edge have been revised too. It also gets new alloy wheels, the sizes of which range from 16 to 19-inches. Like the front end, Skoda has updated the rear end design with new C-shaped LED tail lamps with individual light elements and updated bumper design without faux exhaust vents.
All New Cabin
The exterior design changes are mild in comparison to the all-new cabin for the new-gen Skoda Superb. The carmaker has gone with a minimalistic design which includes multiple different cabin themes. Prominent elements of the new dashboard are the vertical slats that conceal the corner AC vents, a large 13-inch central touchscreen and the physical dials for the multi-zone climate control with smart displays.
The centre console, which is now operated via a stalk behind the steering wheel, no longer features a drive-selector for the automatic variants. Instead, it has a tray to keep your phone and cup holders which can be accessed by sliding back the tray.

This centre console further merges with a central tunnel which is used as a front armrest and also has storage. The upholstery is made from 100 percent recycled materials, raising the green quotient of this new-gen Skoda.
Features & Safety
Apart from the 13-inch free-floating touchscreen infotainment system and the smart dials, the new Skoda Superb also gets a 10-inch digital driver’s display, heads-up display, automatic climate control, a fast wireless phone charger with cooling, 45W USB Type A chargers, powered front seats with massage function, ambient lighting and a sunroof.

Passenger safety is ensured by up to 10 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC) and a host of ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) features like turn assist, emergency steering assist, auto emergency braking and cross-road assist.

All the powertrains mentioned in the table above will be offered in the international markets, where customers will get both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive setups along with mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid options with the turbo-petrol engine.
With the plug-in hybrid system, the Superb can go up to 100km in electric mode, which is supported by a 25.7kWh battery pack. The plug-in hybrid Superb also supports 50kW DC fast charging. However, in India, the 2024 Superb will most likely come with turbo-petrol engine options only, without the plug-in hybrid version.
Launch Timeline
The new Skoda Superb will enter the global markets early next year and it can be launched in India later the same year as a CBU (completely built-up unit) offering. The updated sedan is expected to be priced from Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom) and will be a rival to the Toyota Camry.
