The new MPV released in the market at the Auto Expo 2012 in New Delhi was Nissan Evalia. The car will be competing with the Toyota Innova, the Mahindra Xylo and the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga in the seven seater people carrier car segment. The Nissan MPV has yet not launched in the Indian and Indonesian car market but the pre orders of the car are being made in Indonesia. The buyers can book the car by paying a sum of IDR 50, 00,000 (Rs 30,000 approx).
Over 800 Nissan MPV Evalia has been booked within a week. This gives a positive impact about the vehicl,e which has still not hit the showrooms and also we should also look into the fact that Indonesian loves MPVs like Indian loves small cars. On the contrary Maruti Suzuki Ertiga got 12,000 bookings within a month of its launch. The looks of the car in Auto Expo tells that the car is much more spacious and is more comfortable than Maruti Suzuki Ertiga but still the pricing factor can play a major role in deciding the future of Evalia in Indian and Indonesian car market.
There are possibilities that the Evalia will be launched in the two variants SV and XV. The features which are available in the cars are ABS with EBD, brake boosters, dual airbags, parking sensors, rear-view camera, second and third row cooling and a lot of storage space. The MPV will be incorporated with Nissan-Renault 1.5 dCi diesel motor that exerts 110 PS of power and provides a torque of 150 Nm. A five speed manual or an optional four-speed automatic transmission will be offered in Indonesia but there are no surety as these features will be present in the version which will be launched in India.
