The Czech manufacturer has released some detailed images along with the preview of the Vision S Concept. The upcoming SUV will be high on practicality quotient with three rows of seats. However, there is no exact date for its global debut or unveil.
It incorporates the signature Skoda cues into the huge structure of an SUV, yet the digital rendering looks quite sporty and it’d be interesting to see this car turn into reality. The front grille is a typical Skoda with angrier headlamps and a separate fog lamp right below the headlight, similar to the ones on the previous generation of Yeti.
Skoda has also released the dimensional data of this concept, in which, the length stands at 4700 mm, width at 1910 mm and height at 1680 mm. The car is pegged to compete in the category of Hyundai Santa Fe, provided these exterior specifications.
The Vision S, or Kodiak-its expected name, will be based on VW’s MQB platform. The same is used to define the vehicles (that only falls under the VW umbrella) with a transversely placed motor, hence these are front wheel drive/biased.
Under the hood, Vision S is expected to bolt-in the 1.6-litre turbodiesel from the Superb. Moreover, a diesel-hybrid version is also expected along with four-wheel drive as an optional extra.
Spokespersons from Skoda said that "Over recent years Skoda has completely renewed its model range and the next phase will involve broadening the range of models in the SUV segment."
Speaking of its Indian debut, there are good chances of this car making its way here, especially when the manufacturer plans to bring in a new car every year.
