As a freshly safety-aware India started demanding more from its cars, it was inevitable that the prices would also shoot up. A good thing then that we have cars like the Punch
Buying a new car is always an exciting time. We all look at different segments and models and get an idea of what we want. Whenever people plan to purchase a new car, they consider many factors like price, features, brand popularity, etc.
However, one such factor is now becoming more important than the others and plays a crucial role in the decision-making process. This factor is safety and one of the cars in the market that takes passenger safety seriously is the Tata Punch which comes with a 5-star Global NCAP safety rating.
Importance Of A 5-star Safety Rating
Passenger safety is essential for any car in the market. Organisations like Global NCAP, Latin NCAP and ASEAN NCAP have taken up the responsibility of testing the safety of vehicles through their stringent crash tests. These crash tests result in safety ratings which range from zero to five stars, and the higher the rating, the safer the car.
But why are these ratings so important? Well, most cars today come with a big suite of safety features which help the driver prevent accidents from happening. But once an accident happens, those features will not help save the lives of the occupants on board. For a car to be able to protect its occupants and prevent fatalities of the driver and their loved ones, a high safety rating is required, which the Tata Punch offers.
Safety Comes Without A Premium
Most cars in India with a 5-star safety rating carry a premium price tag, making passenger safety expensive, and only a few people can afford them. This is where the Tata Punch comes in, which, priced from Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards, is the most affordable car in India to come with a 5-star safety rating. It gives its customers a sigh of relief with its perfect crash test rating. Also, with its prices, it goes on to prove that passenger safety is not a matter of money.
Another car from Tata that does not compromise on safety is the Altroz, which also has a 5-star safety rating and comes at a starting price of Rs 6.60 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Safety Features It Offers
Apart from having a body that can withstand an accident and protect its passengers, the Tata Punch also comes with a host of safety features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBS, a rearview camera, a rear defogger, rain-sensing wipers and ISOFIX child seat anchors.
These features add to the existing safety of the Punch and make the SUV a more reliable choice for buyers.
