2015 Safari Storme facelift gets 10 PS power bump and now offers 150 PS on tap, there’s a new premium 6-speaker Harman audio system, and yeah not to miss the new Land Rover-esque grille!
Tata Motors has launched the anticipated Safari Storme facelift in the country at a starting price of Rs. 9.99 lac (Ex-Showroom New Delhi). The 2015 Safari Storme has no major stylistic changes, rather it adds new features and subtle tweaks to the 2.2-liter VARICOR motor.

What’s new!
- There is a new honeycombed grille extending to the air dams, and looks heavily inspired by Tata’s own Land Rover marque. Indeed, they are saying - ‘inspired by premium international SUV brands’!
- The 2.2-liter VTT VARICOR gets a nearly 10 PS power bump and now generates class leading 150 PS of max power at 4000 rpm while torque remains same at 320 Nm extracting at 1700-2700 rpm. And as of now, the engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission, available in 2WD and 4WD options
- There’s a new 260 mm diameter self-adjusting clutch on offer
- As there's a power uprate, 0-100 kmph time gets slight bump, it now gets to 100 kmph mark in 14 seconds and fuel efficiency has also increased nearly a km, 2015 model gets ARAI certified - 14.1 kmpl
- Tata has also increased the fuel tank capacity of the new Storme, it’s now at 63 liters, increasing the overall range considerably
- It’s the interiors where you’ll find a plethora of changes, to start with the cabin is now all-black with silver inserts. And there’s a new Zest borrowed three-spoke steering wheel
- There’s a new Tata’s ConnectNext Harman-made audio system with an LCD display, decibels are powered by a 6-speaker Harman system
- The top VX trims offer standard parking sensors with graphical display on the ConnectNext audio system
