Tata-Fiat manufactured more than 2,00,000 engines in its Ranjangaon plant

Fiat India, exclaimed with great joy that, the company has manufactured 2,00,000 powertrains at the Ranjangaon facility near Pune in Maharashtra. Fiat India's facility at Ranjangaon started the production of the engines in July 2008. The facility was set up to manufacture powertrains for Fiat cars and Tata Motors and also for shipping the engines at the various production unit in and across Europe.
Gurpratap Boparai, the Vice President for Fiat India Automobiles said that, the Fiat-Tata manufacturing unit personifies the excellent technology the company builds in India. The 2,00,000 powertrains is an achievement for the company and the result of hard work and efforts it has put in making the state of the art manufacturing unit.
R Ramakrishnan, the Vice President for Commercial (passenger Car Business) for Tata Motors, expressing his happiness said that, Fiat's engines are loaded in the new Tata vehicles and also these powertrains are exported in various countries. He also added that such achievements express that Indian auto sector can be a production hub for the advanced technological engines.
Fiat India Automobiles is a joint venture between Tata Motors Limited, the Indian auto major and Fiat Group, the Italian car maker.
Fiat, wishes to expand itself in the global sector. The Italian car maker recently showcased the new car Fiat Mio at Sao Paulo in 2010 which is especially crafted for the future generations and its needs. This small car is an ambitious car made from selecting almost 11,000 designs which were drafted by 17,000 participants.
The sources from the company reveals, that, the Italian car brand is always looking for new newness in its range of vehicles. The car was designed for the driver's comforts by leaving the car controls in the hands of intelligent technology.
Well Fiat has surely crafted this new genre car which acquaints the future generations car lovers.
Fiat runs with five car models on the Indian shores. These are are Fiat 500, Fiat Grande Punto, Fiat Linea, Fiat Palio Stile and Fiat Palio Stile Multijet. Even with such power wagons on road, Fiat India has been unfortunate in achieving its yearly sales target. In 2010, first ten months, Fiat India has sold 24,000 units only. The company targeted to sell 46,000 cars over last year's 23,000 units. But it doesn't look like that company will be able take advantage of the favorable and booming domestic market.
