The police has allegedly detained three of MSI’s proposed Maruti Suzuki Employees Union (MSEU) leaders – the president, Mr Sonu Kumar Gujjar; the General Secretary, Shiv Kumar and Ravinder Singh for hampering the work by assaulting the supervisors and workers. All three union leaders are said to be produced in front of court today. Apparently the workers at the factory are furious with the MSI management for employing such sly tactics to get the three leaders under arrest without having an FIR lodged against them.

Since the labour unrest, the management had suspended and dismissed 62 workers on creating the quality issues and the company is apparently ready to take back 14 trainees. However, the workers who are still continuing with the strike, wish to take all the suspended employees back.
