If launched, it is expected to have a limited-edition stint
Japanese automaker Toyota might launch a special edition of its Innova Crysta MPV in the coming months. Called the ‘Touring Sport’ (TS), it will be inspired by the Toyota Venturer, which is currently on sale in the Indonesian market. If launched, the TS variant of the Crysta is likely to have a limited-edition run.
To make it stand out from the crowd, Toyota will equip the TS version with bespoke styling touches. On the outside, it is likely to feature rugged plastic cladding on the bumpers (front and rear) and along the side skirts. It will also get more chrome garnishing on the exterior, including on the front grille, the inserts on the cladding and the OVRMs. It will feature 16-inch black alloy wheels to give the people carrier a sporty look.
On the inside, the TS is likely to be offered in a six-seater configuration and in the top-spec ZX trim only. We expect the car to carry black leather seats with ‘Touring Sport’ markings and exclusively styled floor mats.
Under the hood, the jazzed-up Innova Crysta is likely to house the same set of transmissions and engines. However, it isn’t clear whether it will be offered with a petrol-powered set-up or a diesel one. What we can do, however, is take a calculated guess. Since its main rivals include the fully-loaded variants of the Mahindra XUV500 and the Tata Hexa, we suspect that the Touring Sport will be offered with its 2.8-litre diesel engine and automatic transmission only.
If launched, would you put your money on this limited-edition package from Toyota or will you opt for either of the ‘desi boys’?
