Toyota Officially Teases 2016 Innova!

The second generation Innova is said to be coming this month on 23rd, while Indian debut could take place at the Auto Expo 2016!

Update: After the success of the popular MPV Innova, Toyota has unveiled the next-gen Innova dubbed as Innova Crysta. The vehicle has already been launched in Indonesia and will come as a refreshing change in the Indian market after the decade long run of the original one. The new gen Innova Crysta comes with a lot of cosmetic changes including a large hexagonal front grille, projector head-lights with LED running lamps and more premium interiors inside. Toyota has released the first official teaser of its upcoming second generation Innova with the 'coming soon' tag. Recently, the 2016 Innova got a couple of leaks including the Indonesian brochure which was entirely seeped out. Speaking of the official reveal, Toyota is reportedly debuting the second-gen Innova later this month on 23rd. As per the Indian launch, Innova is already over a decade old in our country, the second gen is mostly likely to be launched somewhere next year while an official public unveiling expected at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo in Feb.

According to the recent leaks, the 2016 Innova will be powered by a new 2.4-liter diesel engine. The motor comes mated to a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission options. The 2393 cc four cylinder engine generates segment best 149 PS @ 3400 rpm and 343 Nm of peak in-between 1200-2800 rpm when coupled to 5-speed manual and 360 Nm in-between 1200-2600 rpm when paired to the 6-speed automatic.

In Indonesia, the vehicle will come with an option of 205/65 R16 and 215/65 R17 alloys. The engine details are in line with the previous revealings, Toyota had revealed earlier this year that a new family of diesel engines will power the second generation Innova and Fortuner. Innova will also feature a new 2.0-liter dual VVT-i petrol engine in other countries, but in India, only diesel mill is expected.  Stay tuned for more updates on the upcoming 2016 Innova.
