Volkswagen hatches are a lot in the news these days. Be it for the Mark-7 Golf or the Polo GTI, they always make headlines in the auto space. Adding to these, Volkswagen has now imported a 1.0L Polo TSI for testing purposes. This will be an addition to 1.2L MPI, 3-cylinder In-line petrol, 1.5L TDI 4-cylinder In-line diesel and 1.2L TSI and 4-cylinder In-line petrol (GT TSI). The car has been imported from Germany at a cost of Rs. 20.44 lac on 20-Nov-2015 for testing purpose. in UK, 1.0L Polo TSI produces 109bhp power with 200 Nm of torque and this engine is mated to a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG gearbox. Also, there is a BlueMotion 1.0L Polo TSI which makes 94 bhp and 160 Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. It's not clear whether this car will be launched in India or if launched, what powertrain will it follow.
Recently, Mark-7 Volkswagen Golf was spotted in India near the Volkswagen’s manufacturing unit in Chakan, Pune. The car featured a left-hand drive configuration and might be launched in India. Also, the German automaker is planning to launch a compact sedan in the country. This new compact sedan is expected to share its platform with Polo hatchback. Also, new compact sedan might share some of its equipment and powerplant options with the VW Polo.
