Volkswagen planning for Beetle launch in India

According to the sources, Volkswagen, the German car manufacturer is firming up its plans to launch the popular model 'Volkswagen Beetle' in India. Volkswagen India (Passenger car) Board of Directors, Member Neeraj Garg told that it is an iconic brand and people know more about the car than Volkswagen. Garg did not mention any time frame for the launch of Volkswagen Beetle, manufactured at Volkswagen's facility in Germany for worldwide delivery.

According to industry experts 'Volkswagen Beetle' would compete with 'Fiat 500' and will be in the price range of Rs 15 lakh. The company currently assembles its premium sedan Volkswagen Jetta and the Volkswagen Passat in the Aurangabad plant and recently inaugurated the Pune plant for manufacturing of premium hatchback Polo, that is ready to hit the Indian roads next year.
