Fearing the competition from the rivals in the sedan segment, Volkswagen is likely to introduce the facelift version of Volkswagen Vento towards the October end. The test mules of the sedan are reported to be spotted with some changes clearly visible from the outgoing Vento model. The recent launches including the revamped versions of the existing sedans like, Maruti SX4 in the diesel variant, Hyundai Verna Fluidic, 2011 Ford Fiesta and the brand new Nissan Sunny have created enough buzz in the car market.

Gearing up to meet the increasing competition in the segment, Volkswagen has introduced the special edition of Volkswagen Vento in form of Breeze editon with additional features. The spied pictures of the Volkswagen Vento facelift clearly shows the smoked headlamps as compared to the crystal clear headlamps on the outgoing model. The changes in the front bumper and the grille are also expected, though not visible from the painted fascia of the car. It is quite strange for the German car maker to launch Volkswagen Vento facelift in just about a year after its introduction. However, the only explanation could be the upcoming launch of the Honda City facelift around the corner.

The Japanese auto major is expected to launch the Honda City facelift with minor upgrades. The revamped Honda City is likely to attract more sales as the sedan has managed to grab quite a bit of market share with the discounted price. However, the new Volkswagen Vento will have an advantage over the new Honda City with the diesel engine, which the latter lacks. The new Volkswagen Vento is expected to come with the same 1.6 L petrol and diesel engine. Nevertheless, the spotted model could also mean another special edition from Volkswagen expected to be introduced towards the end of October during the same time of the upcoming Indian Grand Prix Formula 1 race.
